This years BET Awards is filled with a lot of Indie and Neo Soul artists part of the Music Matters Campaign along with mainly advertised artists.

Queen Latifah as the host did a medley of Drake, Trey Songz and Prince and ending her opening with her rendition of Drake's Over.

Alicia Keys wins for best female R&B Artist

Next Performer was Usher doing " there goes my baby" standing on a pillar surrounded by smoke giving the allusion that he is coming from the the sky and later sliding down a lit up ramp. His vocals were okay most of the beginning was recording the ending could have been much better.

Nicki Minaj wins best female Rap Artist

T.I. Performs his song " Yeah Ya Know", of the soundtrack of Takers with Travis Barker on the drums and did very well.

Drake wins best male Rap Artist

Alicia Keys starts her performance with a video montage of all her number one hits

She performs a medley of No One, Sleeping with a Broken Heart, If I Ain't Got You, with Kim Lerall's version.

Later she sings Unthinkable.

B.O.B performs "Airplanes" and substitutes Hayley Willaims with Keshia Cole and brings Eminem in, I personally loved the performance besides the mishaps, but didn't appreciate Keyshia Cole's screaming. the performance turned into Eminem performing "Not Afraid".

Monica does a mini performance of her song "Everything to Me" and Brings Denis Williams to do "Silly of Me",the original which I was very delighted to see, because personally I prefer the original version

Jay Z & Alicia Keys win best collabration

Diddy performs his verse of " Oh lets do it" remix and later brings out his Dirty Money crew and the rest of the crew for "Hello GoodMorning" remix. The performance was fly and hot very Diddy.

Miss Elle Varner performed her song " So Fly" Shouts out to Indie Music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Drake performs a medley of Over and Young Jeezy comes to perform " Loose My Mind" remix f

Trey Songs wins Best R&B male Artist, and Thanks the Lord (finally)

El Debarge one of my all time favorite groups performs a medley of my favorites, sooo much luv goes out to u.

Tyrese does a tribute to Teddy Pendergrass with a beautiful medley.

Kirk Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Yolanda Adams, Keith Hamilton and Friends perform their heartfelt song " Are you listening"

John Legend receives the Humanitarian Award, Thank You for helping to Heal the World

J. Cole performs "Everyday a Star is Born"

Trey Songz performs " Your Side of The Bed"with the video playing in the background, his vocals were a little shaking. And transitions to a Prince tribute!

EL DEBARGE performs once more for Music Matters

Over All The BET Awards was Okay I would give it 4 stars mainly because of El Debarge,Chris Brown's Tribute Performance and Music Matters but BET really needs to figure out what kind of message they want to give to their viewers, music quality wise.
